The world’s first diesel engine, the “original”, was invented and developed into a marketable commodity by Rudolf Diesel and MAN employees between 1893 and 1897 at the Augsburg site, what was back then known as Maschinenfabrik Augsburg.
Approximately 120 years later, diesel engines are developed and constructed by many companies, but the longest standing experience still remains with its origin, MAN Diesel & Turbo.
